Blackburn Point Park – one of 160 parks in our system

Today we attended the Grand Opening Ceremony of the improvements to Blackburn Point Park in Osprey. It was a gorgeous day and we are so proud to be Sarasota County residents. AYE MATEY, LET’S GET OUT ON THE WATER

Sarasota County is a boater’s delight!  Access to the bays and the Gulf of Mexico is seldom a problem. We were going to write about something weighty this afternoon, like the need for energy-efficient air conditioning, but it’s almost the weekend so let’s do something fun instead.

Let’s go boating.  Sailors love the variable winds on our local waters.  Power boaters love the destinations available as well as the local services they can access. Fishing offers endless entertainment and enjoyment.  Whether you are interested in kayaking, canoeing, power or sail, serious fun awaits you. The constant awareness of boating safety is serious stuff.  Once the basics of boating are accomplished, practice increases the enjoyment.

Our seasonal guests almost ‘expect’ to go boating – or at leas...

• increase strength and flexibility
• increase overall energy
• tone your entire body
• lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, osteoporo...
